Privacy Policy
Last updated · August 23, 2026
This policy explains what AEA Academy (operated by Andrews Express Agency) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it deliberately small: we collect what's needed to teach you and nothing we don't use.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, password (stored hashed by our authentication provider), and your confirmation that you're 13 or older, including the birth year you optionally provide.
- Profile information you choose to add — username, headline, bio, learning goal, experience level, portfolio visibility, and whether you're open to work.
- Learning data — modules started and completed, XP, streaks, badges, knowledge-check answers, certificates issued, and project submissions (titles, descriptions, links, notes).
- AI interactions — messages you send to the AI mentor and its replies, plus the lesson context needed to personalise them.
- Billing information — subscription status and customer identifiers from our payment processor. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data — the requests your browser makes to our servers and error logs, used to keep the platform running and secure.
2. Why we use it
- To create and secure your account and provide the lessons, voice narration, and AI mentor.
- To track your progress, XP, streaks, badges, and eligibility for the Certificate of Achievement.
- To show your public portfolio, leaderboard placement, and talent-pipeline listing where you've opted in.
- To process subscriptions and unlock paid tracks.
- To send transactional email (welcome, password reset, certificate issued) and, if you subscribed, our newsletter.
- To debug problems, prevent abuse, and improve the curriculum.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on the platform.
3. Service providers we share with
We use a small set of processors that handle data on our behalf under contract: a cloud database and authentication provider (accounts, learning data), AI providers for the mentor's responses, a text-to-speech provider for lesson narration, an email delivery provider for transactional email and the newsletter, and a payment processor for subscriptions. Lesson text and your mentor messages are sent to the AI and voice providers only to generate a response. We also disclose information where the law requires it.
4. Information you make public
If you enable a public portfolio, your display name, username, headline, bio, badges, certificate, and approved projects are visible to anyone with the link and may be indexed by search engines. The leaderboard shows your display name and XP. You can turn portfolio visibility off in your profile settings at any time.
5. Learners aged 13–17
AEA Academy is for all ages, but you must be 13 or older to hold an account, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email hello@aeaacademy.com and we'll delete the account and its data promptly. We encourage younger learners to use a nickname as their public username and to keep personal details out of bios and project submissions, and we recommend a parent or guardian approve any subscription.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and learning data while your account is active so your progress, streaks, and certificate remain intact. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile, progress, submissions, and mentor conversations, keeping only what we must for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to your rows is enforced at the database level so other learners can't read your private data, and administrative access is limited to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
8. Your choices and rights
- View and edit your profile, username, and portfolio visibility in your profile settings.
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any newsletter email.
- Cancel a subscription at any time.
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing hello@aeaacademy.com. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, or to complain to a data-protection authority.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process and store data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
10. Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the “Last updated” date above and tell you about material changes. Reach us any time at hello@aeaacademy.com.
