What you'll learn

  • Every automation has to start somehow — learn the three ways to pull the trigger and when to reach for each.
  • How triggers deep-dive: schedules, webhooks & polling fits into the Automation & Workflows track
  • A hands-on project step you can put in your portfolio

The hands-on project

Design and build a two-trigger system for a club or side project of your choice. First, create a webhook-triggered automation: when a form is submitted (use a free form tool or a test webhook), instantly add the submitter's name and email to a spreadsheet and send yourself a confirmation message. Second, create a scheduled automation that runs once a day and sends you a digest of how many new rows were added in the last 24 hours. In your submission, write two or three sentences explaining why webhook was the right choice for the sign-up and why a schedule was right for the digest, and name one place where polling would have been the better fit instead.
